First, I want to introduce myself, tell you about my experience and work ethic so that you can begin to feel comfortable with Signet Title. Comfort and trust are the two most important things you, as a consumer need during the closing process. My name is Debra Pikula. I own Signet Title and have been in the real estate business in one form or another for twenty-five years.
I began by working for attorneys here in Southwest Florida and performed literally thousands of closings as a paralegal. I worked independently and under the supervision of several well known attorneys. I have worked on large projects (i.e. land acquisitions, development and phase closings for golf course communities), commercial transactions, single family homes, condominiums, even lease-hold properties such as boat slips.
As a paralegal, I also have experience in estates and trusts, business law, corporate law, litigation, condominium law, land-lord tenants issues and much more. After many years of working for attorneys, I transitioned into the world of business ownership by way of becoming a realtor and property manager. After becoming a mother and finding it difficult to manage children and business, I went back to the corporate life and began working as a paralender/assistant to the president of a small local bank. This was a great experience for me, I learned a lot about how things work from that side of the closing table which has enabled me to conduct business from the title perspective even more efficiently.
I started Signet Title in 2003 and have been operating this business with a "hands on" approach ever since. I have my hands in every transaction. I want my customers to know me and to know that I will be in charge of their transaction from start to finish. This type of work ethic is hard to find anywhere else here in Southwest Florida.
Now that you know a little about me, and hopefully feel comfortable, let's talk about specific issues that are important to you, such as how to successfully purchase a property in a "Short Sale". Short sales are complicated and all parties involved (i.e. realtors and title professionals) must be experienced, any mistakes along the way can cause the lender to back out. Negotiating a short sale is time consuming, which is why I've decided to step up and offer to assist my clients with this aspect of our ever changing business. There are a lot of variables when it comes to real estate transactions. I'm licensed to close anything in the State of Florida. I recommend that you contact me directly with any questions or concerns.
